Three Peaks Barn description

Holiday home
Three Peaks Barn is a cottage located on a working farm near to Chapel-le-Dale on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. The cottage has six bedrooms, a pull out bed and five bathrooms (two of which are ensuite), thus making it suitable for thirteen people. The cottage also includes a fitted kitchen, a dining room, a snug, a games area and a sitting room with a woodburner. Outside the cottage is off road parking for six cars, large gardens with outdoor furniture and a hot tub. Just a stone's throw from the famous Ribblehead Viaduct, Three Peaks Barn is a stunning property in wonderful countryside.

Situated in the heart of the Three Peaks, Chapel-le-Dale is a small hamlet consisting of the Ribblehead Viaduct, a railway station, a pub and a scattering of small farms and dwellings. The village of Ingleton offers a range of shops, pubs and places to eat and is pretty with narrow and winding streets, centered on a tiny market place.

From heather-clad moors and limestone scars, to market towns and the steady pace of country life - the sublime Dales await you! Where else in Britain is it as satisfying to sit and do nothing as it is to explore the numerous pursuits on offer?

We had a fantastic time. The house is beautiful and in a great location. We loved the size of the house and it was great that we could all fit around the dining table and there was plenty of seating in the living room for everyone. The hosts were extremely nice and welcoming and explained everything on our arrival.

Absolutely brilliant. Our family and friends from 6 to 77 all thought it was the best accommodation we had ever had and we have had a lot! It was extremely well equipped and had some lovely touches. Our children loved the hot tub which was meticulously maintained. They enjoyed the pool table, the Wii and the big beds! The adults appreciated the WiFi, the cleanliness, the quality of the furnishings and the space for cars. Overall we had an excellent week and look forward to the next one.

The Hot Tub was fab especially in the snow on a clear sunny morning with those fantastic views of the hills and the Ribblehead viaduct, absolutely stunning! Also the choice of games, books, DVDs in lounge was really good. It was also very helpful having the friendly owners on hand to help and advise. All in all a very enjoyable stay, thank you.

Had a spacious interior and an original design. The house very soon felt like home. The layout allowed us to spend time together or alone if we wanted a quiet moment. June 2014
Fantastic property for a group of seniors who walked the Dales Way! Everything was as stated on the website. We particularly liked the situation near to the Ribblehead viaduct and the relative isolation and peacefulness of the barn. The owner was welcoming and available if required but everything was so good we did not need to contact her.
Mrs Gooding
August 2014
We liked its remote location. It was so safe for our grandchildren. The hot tub was an added bonus. The accommodation gave us plenty of space. We enjoyed being able to keep an eye on the little ones wherever we were in the house. It was perfect. There were eleven of us in the house but we had loads of space to spread out. The weather was so good that we were able to have so many meals outside. The pictures of the place do not do it justice.
Mr Poupard
May 2014
Spectacular location, layout and excellent condition of the property as a whole. There was immediate access to great walking country. The best holiday cottage our family have stayed in.
Dr O'Halloran

The standard of decor was very high, and the property was spotless. There wasn't a single deficiency I can remember. The location is spectacular.
Mr Collier
May 2014
The Barn is beautiful and I would highly recommend it for a family gathering. It is a great location for walking the 3 peaks. Inside, the large table has loads of space for all 12 people. It also had plenty of glasses, plates and cutlery. In the kitchen, there are 2 normal size fridges, one with a freezer below plus a separate wine cooler. We used the washer and dishwasher; both were easy to use and cleaned everything well. The cooker was really good and fast. The bedrooms were spacious with good quality linens and the games room was loved by the kids and the adults. There were lots of books in the barn detailing local walks. The hot tub was also a great factor, loved by young and old, we were in it daily, and it could have fitted 7 people at once had we wanted to! The owner checked it daily and also provided plastic glasses too. Overall we have to say, The Barn beat all expectations and was of an exceptionally high standard. The owner couldn't have been more helpful, whatever we asked for she provided or helped us with.
Mrs Daniell
May 2014

April 2014
The Barn is in a perfect setting. It is kitted out to a high specification and the open plan design made it ideal for a week away with friends. The beds can be split into twin beds which was ideal for an all girl group. The hot tub was a luxury with gowns in the rooms that gave it a special feel. Absolutely superb.
Mrs Sykes
February 2014
The cottage was superb; spacious, comfortable and every feature was finished to a high specification. The location was equally fantastic, with a wealth of walks in easy reach; it's nestled in the Doe Valley between Ingbrough and Whernside. Our vista was framed at one end by the spectacular Ribble Head Viaduct. The sense of isolation was a welcome change to the bustle of city life. That being said civilisation was within reach as the village of Ingleton was a short drive away and the station pub was within a short walk .
Miss Foster
February 2014

November 2013
Remote location. Beautiful barn which provided a great base for the whole of our family who travelled from north and south to be there. Facilities are great with lots of space, pool table and hot tub. Sitting in the hot tub on a clear frosty night drinking champagne and looking at the stars, which were scattered like diamonds on black velvet, was truly magical! Had a brilliant birthday gathering.. The owners were lovely and helpful - thank you for the welcome cake and a celebration bottle of bubbly!
Mrs Law

The standard of this property is very good and the location is to die for. The property is well presented and maintained. Facilities within the cottage were on a different level.
August 2016
This is high quality accommodation close to the Ribblehead Viaduct. We took our girls, their partners and 2 grandchildren. Cannot fault the accommodation or location. Plenty to do in the area and great for walking, cycling and running. Accommodation has a pool table and hot tub a wii, board games, DVDs, books etc. for the unpredictable dales weather. Wifi available which is useful as patchy mobile signals in area. We had a brilliant time
May 2016
We stayed at Three Peaks Barn for a week - what a delightful experience. The accommodation and its location are both outstanding; Diane, the owner, couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome, to ensure that we were comfortable and that we had everything we needed. It was a memorable holiday (even the sun shined); if you haven't yet stayed in Three Peaks Barn, book now!
May 2016
So rare to find a place that lives up to expectations 100%. The views are exactly as the photos, surrounded by the scenic views of the three peaks. The Ribblehead viaduct is within easy walking distance. The hosts are fantastic and very accommodating. The accommodation itself is of very high quality and has everything you could need. We visited for a combined retirement/birthday celebration and had a great time. We also took advantage of having a 'spa session' at the farmhouse and it didn't disappoint. Diane and Rebecca couldn't have done more for us, it was a lovely relaxing experience and lunch was outstanding! What a lovely peaceful break and would highly recommend.
March 2016
I stayed at Three Peaks Barn with my extended family, celebrating my Dad's 70th, my 40th and my daughters's 5th birthdays. The property is incredible: beautifully presented and appointed, it literally has everything. Everyone had their own bathroom, we all ate together in the sunny open dining area and the kids played in the expansive sitting area upstairs. The hot tub was a massive hit with my wee girl! The surrounding area is simply stunning - you need to see it to believe it. Diane was an exceptional hostess and we were made to feel very welcome indeed. The kids, and the rest of us, enjoyed our tour of the farm! Personal touches, such as champagne for the birthday celebrations and Easter eggs for the kids were incredibly welcome and thoughtful gestures. I can't recommend Three Peaks Barn enough!

We stayed for a long weekend in Sept 2015 to celebrate my parents 50th wedding anniversary. We were greeted by Diane & made to feel instantly at home. She had also left a card, fizz & a cake for the anniversary couple which was very much appreciated! I cannot add anything further to the positive comments already made by other reviewers as the accommodation is wonderful and the location is stunning. It was the perfect choice for a fabulous celebration which was enjoyed by all. Book it or miss out!
April 2015
We stayed as a group of friends on a weekend break and had a fab time. Had great nights sleep in the very comfortable beds. Barn looks better than the pictures provided and offers spacious accommodation for a large group. Everything thought of and provided by the Barn owner. Even had a visit to the Farm to meet the new born lambs, cattle and calfs. You will not be disappointed if you book here.

May 2015
Our second visit in a year, with a completely different group of friends, and everyone from both holidays is unanimous that 3 Peaks is pretty much unrivalled in terms of facilities and location. And Diane, the owner, was delightful, both in dealing with our booking and in person. 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, 2 fridges, hot tub, pool table, disabled it's only a couple of hundred yards from the magnificent Ribblehead Viaduct, and you can see all 3 peaks, Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-Ghent, from the property. We'll be back!

Words cannot express the wow factor the moment you walk through the door, a credit to the owners who leave nothing unturned they really have thought of everything, as a family of 8 adults and 5 children celebrating my 60th birthday I could not of wished for anything better. a BIG thanks you to Diane for your kind gestures, it really was a birthday to remember. The pictures do not do the Barn justice, it is far better than you could ever imagine. We will return. Don't change anything Diane it is perfect as it is. Kev Bristow (one happy 60yr old)

A group of 12 pensioners get together once a year at different locations around the country and our stay this year at Three Peaks Barn was definitely one of the best. The accommodation was spacious, modern and very comfortable and the location stunning. We are all keen walkers and we really loved our stay.

September 2014
We had a family reunion here and could not fault the house or surroundings at all. They had thought of everything you need and we all had plenty of space to chill or get together. The hot tub was definitely an added bonus after coming back from one of the many walks around the area. There was also plenty of other things to do from visiting a zoo, caves and the Lake District all within an hours drive or less.
February 2014
What an amazing property with surroundings to match. We travelled in a group of 13 adults and had an amazing stay at Three Peak. The property is a very high spec and all the rooms are perfect. I would go back tomorrow and recommend it to all my friends. Brilliant Birthday memories
December 2013
We were a group of 10 women who were here for a girlie weekend of relaxation and laughter and the house certainly lived up to our expectations. There was more than enough room and the open plan dining/kitchen was where we spent most of our time. Everything about the house was high quality and we appreciated the lovely touch of cake and bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived. We are definitely looking at booking again next year.
November 2013
What a fantastic holiday! We wanted a lovely lazy break with a few mod cons and thats what we got.The hot tub was a big hit how relaxing whatever time of day.The views were fantastic the peace and quiet was lovely with walks nearby. The Barn is high spec Diane has thought of everything Pool table,Wifi ,games books we had such fun.A lovely welcome when we got there nothing was too much trouble.Definitely go back.We would strongly recommend you go and stay here,we were very reluctant to leave which is always sign of a good holiday.A big thank you Diane and family.
June 2013
With the hills all around, and the impressive Ribblehead Viaduct nearby, this really is an amazing location. I was very impressed by the standard of decor, the level of comfort and the well equipped kitchen, not to mention the hot tub, open fire and pool table. We've already booked for next year.
September 2013
What a lovely holiday! The barn has been refurbished to an incredible standard, I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere so nice before. The location is really beautiful and views are amazing. I'd recommend going to the caves up the road, the Ingleton Waterfalls walk is good fun too. You feel like you're in the middle of nowhere (which is lovely!) but equally, Ingleton is just up the road if you need anything. The couple who run the farm are lovely and even let us come and meet a new born calf which my nephews really enjoyed. The hot tub is an added bonus and are a nice way to spend the evening. Overall, a really enjoyable holiday and I would definitely recommend to anyone. The only negative thing I can think if is that the barn is one mile off the main road and it's full of potholes so careful with your car! It wouldn't put me off though and I would definitely go again.

May 2013
Just returned from a special birthday celebration at Three Peaks Barn. There was 6 couples staying at the barn and it exceeded my expectations. There is such a high quality finish and everything you could need and more. The hot tub was perfect even when there was gale force winds and heavy rain we made the most of it. The living room is designed in such a way that you can move the furniture round to suit your needs and the pool table was a well used accessory. The bedrooms were well laid out and would also be ideal for three families to share and the beds were so comfy I wanted to take mine home. As well as internally we had the breath taking views (when it wasn't foggy) and little lambs in the field next to us. I cant praise the owners enough and they left us bottles of red & white wine and a gorgeous cake and then when they realised it was a birthday celebration they gave the birthday boy a bottle of Champagne. The only down side that doesn't reflect on the cottage is that the walk to the pub is longer than10 minutes and due to the bad weather we popped to the Coop in Ingleton and made a meal in the barn and jumped in the hot tub instead. Highly recommended and already trying to plan a trip back.
Mr Absolon
April 2016
This is a beautifully done barn conversion in a fantastic location for the Three Peaks. The geothermal underfloor heating is superb and the hot tub very welcome after a long walk on the hills.
December 2012
7 girls descended on this beautiful converted barn for some R&R;! The house has been done to a very high standard - it has a lovely homely feel to it - with breathtaking scenery. On our second night we had a private chef come cook for us - a real treat. (White Rose Caterers!). Simply wonderful. We were welcomed with a lovely homemade cake and wine. The hosts who live on the working farm are great! They not only gave us a lift to and from the local pub but they joined in on our last night of fun at the house. They really are so welcoming. There is nothing bad or negative to be said about this house or our stay at 3 Peaks Barn. We will most certainly be going back. Thoroughly recommend to a family or to a group of ladies that want a rural 'get away from it all'. Enjoy - from 6 blondes & a brunette!

July 2012
As a large family group we booked this converted barn before seeing any photos as it had just been converted and we worried if it would be as nice as the description sounded, we weren't disappointed the place was amazing. Our group was 8 adults and 3 children aged 4, 1 and 1 and the barn catered for us perfectly. After booking we spoke a few times to the owners to discuss our stay and they went out of their way to provide us with facilities to accomodate our young children including stair gates a play pen and high chair as well as the books and toys. On our day of arrival the owners contacted us to advise us of very bad weather to allow us to prepare with things like wellingtons and raincoats which was considerate. Due to flooded roads en route we arrived very late but were still greeted at the barn and shown around as well as welcomed with a cake and some wine. The barn is well laid out and we loved the hot tub even in the rain, looking at the surrounding viaduct and peaks covered in rain clouds while soaking in a hot bubbly tub is quite an amazing experience. Nothing was too much trouble for the owners and even with truly dreadful weather everybody had a memorable time and would certainly go back. The owners even rang to say my wife had left an item of clothing and returned it by post free of charge for us.
