Tippets View Family Cottage description

Holiday home
Tippets view is part of a wonderful barn conversion, within a glorious sixteenth century property, situated on a five hundred acre working livestock farm in the scattered rural hamlet of Luntley. With three bedrooms, one of which is downstairs making it suitable for people with mobility difficulties, this lovely property is able to sleep up to seven people. Outside is a private garden which is great for alfresco dining and active children. Nearby are the towns of Hereford, Hay-on-Wye and medieval Ludlow, providing the property with a range of amenities, including pubs, restaurants and shops. This lovely little home-from-home makes a great base no matter what the time of year.

Situated in the heart of the Welsh Marches, between Ludlow and Hay-on-Wye, the tiny rural hamlet of Luntley is in an ideal location to enjoy the rolling hills of North Herefordshire. A mere two miles from this pretty village, is idiosyncratic - the medieval village of Pembridge is known as the "Jewel in the Crown" of the famous "Black & White Village Trail". Full of wonderful half-timbered houses and boasting an unusual church with separate tower, three traditional country pubs and a fourteenth century market hall, this little gem of a village has plenty to offer its many visitors. A little further a field are the towns of Hereford, Hay-on-Wye and medieval Ludlow – renowned for having four Michelin Starred restaurants.

Herefordshire offers visitors the chance to journey through lush green countryside, enjoying splendid black-and-white timbered villages, a magnificent cathedral city, a fairytale Georgian castle at Eastnor or books galore in famous Hay-on-Wye.

Tippets View is set in a good location and the owners are very friendly. It had a lovely garden and an excellent paddock at the rear of the property for the children to play safely. The local amenities are only a short drive away. A very enjoyable holiday, we would definitely stay here again!

Lovely location with pleasant walks. The village was delightful and the children loved the animals because the property was on a working farm. A welcoming feeling when we arrived late in the evening - lights on, warm, plate of cakes and teabags. The cottage had a very cosy atmosphere combining the ancient building with it's oak beams and high ceilings, with all the modern amenities. Although the season didn't lend itself to sitting out, the private garden was ideal for a family barbeque and the children playing out.

Fantastic host family. Beautiful location within easy reach of good days out: Ludlow, Hay on Wye, Croft Castle, Berrington Hall etc. Quiet, rural location - away from it all.

The owners of the property were fabulous and nothing was too much trouble for them. They also greeted us on arrival with lots of information and home-made cakes which was a fantastic touch. The area was beautiful and the cottage was perfect for our needs ... can't wait to go back.
