Tregotha Barn Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Set on a former farm amid lush countryside, this property is a superbly converted semi-detached barn, just three miles from Hayle and four miles from the stunning coastline. Well-furnished throughout, this property offers a lovely sitting room with wood-burning stove, an en suite to the master bedroom and a large kitchen with dining table. Outside is a private garden and shared use of a paddock, making this a perfect spot for al fresco dining, an afternoon sunbathing or a game of football or cricket. There is plenty to do in the near vicinity as Tregotha Barn and with towns like Penzance, St Ives and St Michael's Mount close by, visitors are unlikely to get bored.

Set in the midst of lush green fields and just four miles inland from the glorious beaches at Hayle, the pretty village of Reawla is an excellent base from which to explore the land of Celtic myth and legend that is Cornwall's far west. Testaments to the county's mining heritage can still be seen, whilst the coast with its rolling surf, miles of sandy beaches, hidden coves and outstanding cliff-top walking is just minutes away and provides some of the country's best surfing and water-sports. The towns of Penzance and Helston are close by, as is the quaint fishing harbour and artist's colony of St Ives. St Michael's Mount with its medieval castle and church provide an imposing presence, standing off shore in Mount's Bay.

Cornwall's visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain's premier holiday destinations.

Oil central heating with woodburning stove in the sitting room. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, washer/dryer, dishwasher, TV, video, DVD player, small library of games. Fuel, power and starter pack for woodburning stove inc. in rent. Bed linen inc. in rent. Travel cot available. Ample off road parking. Seating area directly outside cottage with further lawned garden with furniture 25m from cottage with furniture and rural views. Shared use of paddock. One well-behaved dog welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Village shop 3 mins drive, pub 5 mins drive.

Lovely place, very welcoming owners. Loved the cottage and the views across the fields while sitting out. Good location, very peaceful but easy access to St Ives and both coasts. Excellent for people like us with a dog.

Tregortha Barn was spacious and felt like home. The kitchen was superb and comfortably fitted us all. Overall the standard of the cottage was super, and the owner was very helpful and friendly. Very hard to find such wonderful dog friendly places to stay. Would definitely return.

My wife and I are caravanners, but this time we needed somewhere to take our son, daughter-in-law, grandchildren and dog. A friend recommended you to us and we are so glad that she did. Your booking team were efficient and friendly, helping us to find the perfect place that suited all of our needs. Tregotha Barn is a peaceful place to stay - away from the hustle and bustle of St Ives - but close enough to visit the many other wonderful places that make up that part of Cornwall.

The barn was furnished to a very high degree and everything had been thought of to make us comfortable. We were welcomed by the owners who were very friendly. We enjoyed it so much we wanted to stay an extra week, but they were booked up. We will return, and thoroughly recommend this accommodation to everyone, especially if you want to take your whole family away as a group.

Huge, light and airy rooms in this Barn conversion. Beds were comfortable, and so was the lounge furniture. A massive kitchen and two bathrooms, great! Lovely welcome by owner who showed us our outside table for breakfast where the sun rose, and our evening table for dinner where the sun set; amazing. We had a lovely week here, it was so quiet. Perfect.

A lovely large barn conversion, and although there were just two of us it still had a cosy feel. Very well placed for visiting lots of places. Land's End, The Lizard, Mousehole is very pretty, Kynance Cove an absolute must. Hope to return with family and grandchildren.

The property was renovated to a high order. It was very quiet, lovely owners, dog friendly and near the Trevaskis Farm shop. We were also near the surf beaches. We have rented cottages for 10 years in Cornwall, this was the best, and we hope to come again

July 2018
It just didn't feel homely, we stayed in barn 3, it just wasn't very clean, there was a really bad musty smell as you walked in.. Needs a lot of work doing to it, beds were so uncomfortable.. Me & my husband have come back with bites all over us. Overall this didn't stop us..
October 2014
An absolutely brilliant place, 3 double rooms, 1 en suite , huge family kitchen , big comfy lounge, this cottage has all you need , its in a quiet but good location, the gentleman that showed us around the cottage was great pointing out everything and telling us about local beauty spots and eateries.

Came to stay for family wedding. Lovely conversion in middle of four similar properties. Probably the least private as it is the middle property. Although in need of a little upkeep, an a good dust, the house made an excellent base for our holiday. With a young child the open plan lounge kitchen created a spacious hub area. The bedrooms were also roomy. The house was light and bright and had a little patio area out the front. The owners had put in a private patio / eating area for this particular cottage in the opposite field too. There was also a shared paddock. Good value for money as cheaper than many other holidays cottages in the area.
June 2013
We picked Tregotha Barn, as its location (a couple of miles outside of Hayle) made it the perfect base for our holiday around Cornwall. We were not disappointed! The owners, Mr and Mrs Law, were very welcoming and readily contactable during our stay to answer any questions we had (from how to work the oven to asking for more toilet rolls!). The barn itself was great: the size of the rooms adequate; plenty of space but still felt cosy. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped; all the rooms clean. There was so much natural light from outside that we didn't really need to turn the lights on until well after 9pm. There is big supermarket (Co-op) in Hayle which is 10 mins' drive from the barn - handy for stocking up on food supplies. My family and I enjoyed our stay there greatly; it is great value for money and we would definitely recommend it to others.
October 2012
So hard to find pet friendly accommodation in Cornwall, this was that and so much more. A beautiful location, really central to everywhere we wanted to go. A lovely cottage, fantastic for us with two kids and our parents as plenty of room. Owners on hand most of the time if you needed them. Have booked to go again next year and booked one of the owners other properties because 12 of us are going!! Would thoroughly recommend without hesitation.
October 2011
We had a lovely week in a great location with lots to see and do. There was fly fishing available locally and we were not far from the sea for a spot of sea fishing. The cottage was new and very clean with lots of space
August 2011
Property at the end of a very muddy lane and the sign post was obscured from one side. Need a car for shopping and entertainment. Property was clean and spacious - the welcome was very friendly. If you are afraid of Turkeys - don't go they visited the property regularly looking for handouts - we thought it was delightful!
December 2009
The house and the owners were fantastic. A lovely welcome and felt as if we were staying with friends. Peaceful and and a memorable holiday. I would recommend this to anyone.
September 2010
the cottage needed a good clean all over - furniture not been hoovered under; bathroom units dirty, loo flushing temperamental and seat needed replacing there were tens of flies upstairs each evening washer dryer broken - did not dry duvets far too hot for summer stay quiet location
Mrs Sivori

May 2015
It was so quiet and in the most peaceful and unpopulated area of Cornwall, despite both coasts being only a few miles away. It was very practical for my elderly father who needed accommodation on one level and this was perfect for him. It took a long time to find somewhere that suited us all and Tregotha gave us all the space we needed and more. Thank you.
Mrs Smith
April 2015
Very relaxing with lovely welcoming owners who made us feel welcome. Our grandson loved the tractors. We were fortunate to have lovely weather but there are lots of things to do within a reasonable distance if the weather is not good.
