Ty Capel Pet-Friendly Cottage description

Holiday home
Situated just three miles from Llanberis, this stone-built cottage is located on top of a hill in idyllic and peaceful surroundings. There are two bathrooms, one with the added bonus of having a whirlpool bath. Other treats include underfloor heating and a wood-burning stove for the colder months, whilst, in the summer a grassy area, complete with picnic benches offers ample opportunity for a spot of outdoor dining. A unique and charming property at any time of year.

Llanberis sits at the foot of Mount Snowdon and is renowned as a base from which walkers, climbers, mountain-bikers and even rail-passengers can explore the wonder of this ancient mountain. Llanberis has grown since Victorian times, in conjunction with one of the two lakes that sandwich it, Llyn Padarn. Llanberis was a slate mining town and quarried slate from the mountain across the lake itself. Now, the redundant slate quarries merge with the surrounding lakes and forests to provide something of interest for all, whatever the weather. The 800-acre Padarn Country Park is the perfect place to explore what the countryside and the local heritage have to offer, including two sites of Special Scientific Interest, a local nature reserve and a wide range of water-sports. If that isn't enough for you, you can always ascend the heights by taking the Snowdon Mountain Railway, see the Ceunant Mawr Waterfall and visit First Hydro's Electric Mountain.

Famous for its choirs, stunning mountain ranges and beautiful valleys, this wonderful country has something for everyone. From Snowdonia in North Wales to the Brecon Beacons and the Pembrokeshire Coast in the South.

Underfloor heating on all floors with heating from woodburner. Electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, TV, DVD, stereo/CD, WiFi. Fuel, power and starter pack for woodburner inc. in rent. Bed linen and towels inc. in rent. Cot and highchair on request. Outside area with picnic benches, offering superb views of Snowdon and surrounding mountains. Off road parking for 3 cars. Up to 2 well-behaved pets welcome. Sorry, no smoking. Shops, pubs and other amenities 3 miles.

Ty Capel was a wonderful cottage which we enjoyed immensely. The lovely location could not have been better; it was very peaceful and remote with sheep roaming outside the front door. We really enjoyed the superb walks from the cottage through the local forest and slate-mines into Llanberis which we found to be some of the prettiest countryside around. As for the cottage, it is extremely comfortable and spacious. We appreciated the really good kitchen with all of the necessary utensils, bedrooms and the decently sized lounge. It was a great week.

Ty Capel i set in a wonderful location overlooking the mountains in Snowdonia National Park. It's a perfect base to explore the national park and visit local beaches. The cottage itself was spotless, and had all the facilities you would need. The bedrooms were lovely, the kitchen a perfect size for family dining and the owners very friendly and accommodating. Overall, a lovely holiday.

The cottage was great. What we particularly liked was how practical it was. Normally when you return from your holiday, you look forward to the familiarity and ease of your own home. Ty Capel was so well thought out that we really didn't want to come back - even for the little things. A wonderful place to stay, in an area steeped in interesting history, with spectacular scenery and plenty to do - what more could you ask?

November 2005
The cottage was wonderful. Most of it seems it has been renovated as a show house for Ikea or Habitat. It's beautifully finished, and all of the furniture, fittings, and kitchen wear are of very high quality. The underfloor heating was a special bonus, and helped make the place feel very warm, relaxing and homely. The view was excellent too, and the cottage was a great base for our weekend of biking. Very good value for money. We'd definitely stay again.

Fantastic cottage. Everything you would need from home to home. The owner had left flowers and Welsh biscuits which was a lovely warm welcome. Well equipped, clean and tidy. Only problem was that the second shower wasn't working properly but as we were all family it was fine! Great waking up to the sounds of hens, who came to visit on many occasions! Great location to get to attractions of North Wales and walks. Peacful with beautiful views! Highly reccomended!
