The cottage is perfect in every way. We stayed in October so it was lovely to have the wood burner going. It was great to sit outside and listening to the cows munching in the field across the road, lovely and quite area. Great dark skies for seeing all the stars, and the welcome cake kept us going all week. Well done to the Wern Bach team.

The cottage was perfect. Quaint, cosy and very homely. The owners had done a superb job to ensure guests had everything they needed. We arrived to a complimentary bottle of wine, gingerbread and hot chocolate with marshmallows. They even left a treat for the dog! There was everything you needed in the kitchen - not just crockery and cutlery, but pots and baking dishes, kitchen foil and cleaning cloths. The cottage was also in an ideal location for walks, village pubs and easily accessible to Chester and Liverpool for day trips.

March 2015
If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of life, experience another culture and great hiking and cycling trails/road, this is perfect. It felt like a home from home and is a 20 minute walk away from Caerwys. If felt very secure and there was always a welcome feel when we got back from our daily adventures. The Country side around is flat, but within a very few miles you come to the Clwydian range, to the coastal hills and the seaside - although we were disappointed at Rhyl except that Sidoli's Ice cream parlour on Wellington Road is still going, where you get the creamiest, nicest vanilla ice cream ever and at a very old fashioned price! We will return.
Mrs Halley
October 2009

September 2009
We had a fantastic time with our two grandchildren, the cottage has an ample safe play and BBQ area and good off road parking. Good access to the A55 which made it easy for touring the attractions of North Wales and Cheshire. I would have no hesitation in staying there again in this really well equipped and cosy cottage.

October 2015
We really enjoyed our week at "Wern Bach". It is beautifully situated and fully equipped for a short break. Other plus points are: the location, quietly situated but within easy access of the major traffic route across North Wales; ample off-road parking; the welcome-pack (including treats for the dog); comfortable beds; a log-buner. Small negatives are: the central heating only stays on for an hour at a time; dogs have to be kept off the carpet, so effectively out of the lounge; no upstairs toilet. But for a week these minor inconveniences were far outweighed by the general loveliness of the property. The view from the bedroom across the fields, with no other house anywhere near, was a dream!
October 2011
Clean, with all the comforts of home plus an added touch of luxury. Highly recommended and excellent if you have dogs.

December 2011
We really enjoyed our stay here, from the complimentary bottle of wine, the cosy log fire, all the comforts that you need were supplied. The owners were lovely leaving us fresh eggs and freshly dug potatoes (Sept). Very rural with nature as your neighbours. We could sit out and watch the sun rise in the morning and sit with a glass of wine in the evening watching the stars. Its location is perfect to for travelling around North Wales etc. The only slight downside was no standup shower and the bathroom was downstairs away from the bedrooms but other than that it was absolutly perfect. We would definately go back to Wren Bach. Highly recommended.
December 2012
Never used Sykes cottages before but will be booking again next year. The cottage was lovely and clean like going from home to home. Great location and many lovely walks. Not many shops so take some shopping with you. Couple of the pubs in Caerwys closed on a Sunday and stop serving food at lunch time on a Saturday. but soon found a pub called The Travelers Inn just off the a55.
August 2015
A warm welcome from the owner with wine and homemade cake! All the basics provided including loo rolls and cleaning materials. The beds were comfortable with plenty of linen. The cottage was well furnished with quality furniture and very clean. A 25 minute walk to Caerwys where you will find a couple of shops including a butchers annd tea rooms as well as a couple of pubs. Further afield are Chester or lots of beautiful beaches. Lovely country walks on your doorstop the owner also has some friendly chickens and sheep.
May 2013
Ideally situated, very comfortable, lovely "little touches" only drawback was no upstairs loo, but would stay again.
June 2010
Was a lovely cosy cottage, very welcoming and everything there that you needed to make you break enjoyable. Excellent location for easy reach of many attractions and places to visit and close to some pubs serving excellent food which was very reasonable. Hoping to return later in the year.
December 2013
Loved this cottage had everything you could wish for great walks handy for main road. Such thoughtful touches from owners wine chocs flowers and even Christmas presents under the tree for us and the dog. Loved the log burner too.
July 2011
This cottage is in such a peaceful location - on a quiet road, surrounded by great views. It had everything you could want and they had left little extras - wine, bubble bath, treats for pets, chocolate and marsh mallows! The owners have left walks, mags and books to read while you stay as well. We were so cosy and settled - it was hard to come home! The double and twin beds were very comfortable and we have never slept so well - even at home! Everything felt good quality and we loved the abundant snuggly towels! We would definately return again and loved it! It is not only near the North Wales coast, but very near Chester too if you want to shop!
September 2011
Very comfortable cottage with easy access to most visitor sites in the area, this is our second visit to this cottage
