The cottage is well restored and furnished; very comfortable, especially the underfloor automatic heating. The surrounding area has many attractions including National Trust properties and the National Park. It is the best rented cottage we (and our Standard Poodle) have found so far. The owner deserves very high commendation for her project.

This was an excellent cottage in a peaceful location, within easy reach of Ashbourne. We couldn't have wished for a better property to stay in. The garden was excellent for the dogs and the cottage was extremely spacious with a very sizeable kitchen, clean bedrooms and plenty of storage space. We have already recommended to family and will most definitely be returning.

The cottage was very cosy, warm and comfortable - it was great to have underfloor heating. The property was convenient for many local attractions and the owners were very helpful. The view through the lounge windows of the field at the back of the property made this one of the best properties that we have rented over many years. Thoroughly recommended.

We had an amazing holiday, in a very comfortable and well equipped holiday home. The field backing on to the garden was a bonus that the dogs greatly enjoyed. The property was in an ideal location and we will be returning for a well earned rest.

Great Location in peaceful spot. Both the inside paddock and outside field were absolutely excellent for dog owners. Had a lovely King size bed and wood burning stove. Also, under floor heating was a real treat since there was snow on the ground and temperatures were freezing. Plenty of trails, good walks and country pubs in the immediate location.

We appreciated the underfloor heating and wood burning stove on a cold December weekend. The cottage was spotless and well situated for travelling about the area. Carsington Water was especially pleasant for a winter walk.

Beautifully finished property to the highest standard which made it a pleasure coming back to after a day's sightseeing. The heating was excellent which had a wood burning stove if it ever got a bit chilly.

The barn conversion is excellent, and everything is completed to an extremely high standard. Very comfortable and well equipped. We will definitely book it again. Not far from Chatsworth House, Bakewell and Ashbourne. Fantastic local pub, The Tiger, very friendly and excellent food.

Good location, quiet but easy to get to Ashbourne, which is what we wanted. Great standard within the cottage. Myself, my husband and parents in law stayed and for the four of us, it was very comfy. My parents came for Sunday lunch and it was nice to have a dining table for 6. The underfloor heating in the lounge was great - surprisingly controllable. This cottage was very well stocked; made it feel like a home from home.
December 2014
Stayed at Woodside Barn over the Christmas period, with my wife and grand children. The property is situated in Church lane, Muggington which is a small village about 8 miles from Ashbourne in the Derbyshire dales. Downstairs is a large kitchen with all the amenities, and a large table that can easily seat 6 people. This leads to the Lounge that is spacious and has under floor heating for the cold weather. There is also a downstairs toilet and shower cubicle, and a wood burning stove which is an attractive feature. At one end of the lounge are a number of glass panel doors that open out onto an enclosed part lawn part chippings area which is ideal if you have a dog. Beyond this is a massive field where you can also walk your dog but it will need to be supervised. Upstairs are three bedrooms, and a toilet and bath room area. The place is spotlessly clean, and is in a convenient location to travel to many of the small villages in the dales or the nearby Cossington resevoir.

lovely stay this weekend at Woodside barn with the family for my sons birthday! Barn very clean and well equipped with everything you would have at home. Log burner and underfloor heating very nice. All rooms good sizes. Lots of nice walks close by, the dog loved it.
May 2014
I would recommend this property highly; its beautifully finished, the garden and attached field is ideal for those who have pets. A lot of thought has gone into providing all those little extras which are often overlooked by other holiday property owners, such as nice soaps, dishwashers tablets etc
Mr Wells
